Dan Bricklin is the co-creator of VisiCalc, the first electronic spreadsheet. In addition to the spreadsheet, Bricklin helped develop one of the first word processing systems in the mid-1970's, programmed the most popular prototyping tool of the MS-DOS world, helped introduce the world to the capabilities of electronic ink on pen computers, brought new types of easy website authoring to regular people, and continues his work with electronic ink on the Apple iPad. Bricklin's products have been catalysts with major impacts on the growth of the computer industry. Bricklin is also the author of Bricklin on Technology, published by Wiley. In the book, the inventor, entrepreneur, and longtime blogger explores a diverse collection of subjects, from the personal conversations of commuters heading home to those of warriors guiding missiles; from music to gesture recognition on the Apple iPhone; from the American Revolution to today's political conventions; from nuclear power plants to simple tools used by millions; Bricklin discusses technology at the human level.
